North Curl Curl Headland, Sydney

Brief
To turn a tired parking space and entry courtyard into a contemporary, useable, outdoor area, and a spot to sit and enjoy a morning coffee and the ocean view. The main problem being that the view was obstructed by a 1.7m wall, which the clients wanted to retain for privacy.

Design
The solution was easily found. We reduced the wall height by one brick course to allow a view when standing. We then made a window in the middle of the wall, with timber shutters, which can be opened to enable a view, when seated.
